Faroe's Post Postcard and Cancellation Mark

Posta (who also celebrates their 150th anniversary this year) has issued a special postcard to celebrate the day, featuring the first Faroese stamps. It can be purchased both mint or franked, and cancelled with a special postmark on 1 October 2021.

To celebrate World Postcard Day, Jersey Post invites the Islanders into their flagship post office (15 Broad St, St Helier) to fill out a postcard with "Words of Wisdom" that they wish they'd been told sooner. To commemorate World Postcard Day 2021, the Singapore Philatelic Museum invited pupils aged 10-12 years from 50 primary schools to send a postcard to a loved one. Postage stamps and postcards were sponsored by Singapore Post and the museum, respectively.

The children's writing corner at the Museum of Post and Telecommunications will see a different number of activities! In addition to letters, which can be written with a quill, there will also be a special postcards for coloring and completing. The postcards will be afterwards published on the museum's Facebook page and on their website,  so that they can be printed at home.

Seminar about collecting postcards by The Royal Philatelic Society London

Barry Stagg (Chairman of the British Thematic Association) will give a talk about the various ways in which to collect, store and display picture postcards, giving examples from his own collections.

Also at Stampex, Peter F Cockburn FRPSL, president of the Royal Philatelic Society London, will have an exhibition about Chinese postcards. During the period between the wars 1920-1940 a genre of novelty post cards was produced in China by using cut up postage stamps in collage to make pictures. Most were entirely hand made many with painted or printed backgrounds. Mr. Cockburn will give a talk about these postcards at 12am.

Donate A Letter workshop at the Postal Museum

The letter writing charity, From Me to You invites everyone to join them writing postcards to people in hospitals who need to have their day brightened and a smile put on their face. The charity provides the postcards, all you need to do is turn up at the London Postal Museum café (free entry) with a pen and some words.
